This is a fine example of religion gone wrong. Pastor Terry Jones exclaims God told him to do a certain thing then not to do it. What to do, what to do? God gets blamed for everything, for every kooky idea that man comes up with. This is another fine mess man has gotten God into; the burning of the Koran. Let me say again that Jones had every right to burn the Koran had he chosen to do so; but did he really think that he was so clever in his attempt to burn this book that it would lead to a meeting to have the Islamic Community Center in New York City moved? No! It’s a perfect example of politics getting in the way.
Are Muslims tolerant? You hear the “Right” speaking out about the ills of Islam. Even President George W. Bush said how they hate our freedoms. My how we laughed. Sorry to agree, but he wasn’t completely wrong. Look at how Muslims view us in light of what recently took place. We do have freedom of speech as well as protest. Do Christians get upset when they burn Bibles; no. Do we get mad when they burn the American flag; no. It was them(Muslims) in the streets burning tires, blaspheming America. One politician running for local office in Kabul said “if our Quran gets burned, we will find and kill Americans wherever we find them.” They really make Islam look tolerant and peaceful. Is this a religion (I say cult) we would want to join? In Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s book Infidel, she speaks out on the atrocities of a religion she was reared in as a child. This is must read book, very powerful and moving.
While listening to the Warren Ballentine show, a lady caller said while she didn’t agree with the burning of the Koran he had every right; should he want to. She also said why do Christians as well as Americans have to always be tolerant when they (Muslims) whine about everything?
I would to add to her statement, how many churches have we have built in Muslim countries? How many mosques have they built in America? We allow Muslims to practice as they please here, they tell us they’re able to practice a more truthful form of Islam.
I’m really disappointed in the protesters in Kabul. They’re poor, destitute, and are virtual slaves in their own countries while Muslims in America benefit from the freedoms they mock.
