Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News is rarely “fair and balanced.” I think the slogan is so ingrained at the network that it spills from the mouths of workers without much provocation. New York Times’ writer Paul Krugman latest column points out, however, that things over at Fox are changing even more and we all better pay attention. With help from( Politico) Krugman writes that every major contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination who isn’t currently holding public office is a paid contributor to Fox News.
Maybe you didn’t know or maybe you don’t care but do you really want those running for public office to be paid contributors at any news network and especially at Fox News? At Fox they have just about thrown the pretense of being “fair and balanced” out the window. They are more like political hacks promoting their favorite candidate but I agree with Krugman that there is a price to pay for accepting those checks and surely it is that favors will be called in if you’re elected.
