She was caught unawares once again, this time on religion. I have been saying this for the longest; rallying against so-called Constitutionalists and religion. Most Americans believe in God or a higher power but what we must understand though is that Christianity is not a state religion, it’s mostly adopted and practiced by us (Americans). She (O’Donnell) was caught out there like a deer in the proverbial headlights in a debate at Widener University Law School in Wilmington, seeming amazed that the First Amendment speaks to the separation of church and state.
Remember an unknown atheist Madelyn Murray O’Hare single-handedly removed prayer from public schools. Public schools are government-run schools not private or parochial schools, hence the sticking point for her on prayer in schools. What I don’t get is how politicians more so the “Right” miss the basic fundamentals of the Constitution or better yet the Bill of Rights?
