Is it possible that one man could invent two things that save lives on a daily basis? Yes it is and his name was Garrett Morgan*(1875-1963). Maybe you heard that he invented the three-way traffic light but did you know that he also invented the gas mask? His gas mask saved the lives of countless American Soldiers from the enemy’s deadly chlorine gas during World War I. He even discovered a process that could straighten hair and when the affairs of blacks were not being covered properly by newspapers he founded his own.
