Representative Peter King(R-NY), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security recently held Congressional hearings on Muslim radicalization. He’s convinced that Sharia Law is talking over as well as Muslim cell groups. First this is preposterous, why? Let’s look a little thing called the Constitution. The First Amendment states, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. If we simply go by that alone the article ends here.

We live in a world of pure hysteria. I’ve been hearing Newt Gingrich as well as others on the right talking about Sharia Law.  Now many states are trying to pass laws against it, which is totally crazy because it only exists in Muslim countries.

Since the Constitution doesn’t value any religion, do we have authority to arrest people according to their beliefs?  It’s as if we’re telling Muslim’s to forgo the Mosque and get married in a church. We have to link these two things together. Mr. King is also going to have to deal with local Muslim radicals e.g. the Fort Hood shooter, the seven North Carolina men arrested for plotting ‘violent jihad’,  the Time Square bomber, and the underwear bomber.

McCarthyism Tales

Many compared the hearings to those that Senator Joseph McCarthy held but I disagree with the language. McCarthy lied and was power-hungry but Rep. King is doing his job. He’s not creating something out of ether. There is a culture of terrorism. We act as if we’re not alarmed with terrorist attacks, even though they have failed. It’s still alarming as well as bothersome. We are dealing with differing beliefs systems. We have modernists, traditionalists, and fundamentalist and they all hold different view points and opinions.

Terrorism should be a non-partisan issue, all political groups should be engaged. We can’t pretend terrorism doesn’t exist and we can’t pretend it’s not an overwhelming issue. Lest we forget, the 9/11 attackers from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Great Britain, Libya, just to name a few. There are around 30 other Countries that are part of terrorist’s regimes. America has many issues with terrorism, not just one,  and as I said earlier we have to link the two together : the outing of terrorism as well as speaking out about Sharia Law. Thirteen states, (Oklahoma, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Georgia, Wyoming, SC, Mississippi, Texas, Utah, South Dakota and Louisiana) have passed bills banning Sharia Law. One judge in Georgia overturned the ruling based on the First Amendment claim that it’s unconstitutional to target a group. This is total paranoia, especially Sharia Law.

The question that I must ask and was reminded of recently when I spoke with a Pakistani person. Why do we have terrorist in the U.S? It has to do with our meddlesome nature and bad foreign policy. Remember when then President George W. Bush mentioned he didn’t believe in Nation building. Why, then, do we have 761 Military bases on foreign lands? We need to stop killing brown people and creating enemies. How would we feel if we were invaded? They made an 80’s movie Red Dawn( “go Wolverines” based on that concept. The same writer of Red Dawn and Apocalypse Now wrote a video game called HomeFront. The game shows the U.S. being invaded by North Korea. In the America we have more guns than we have people so you know we would fight to the death.

It’s time we bring our troops home. Why, again, are we in Afghanistan? President Obama said he would bring our troops home… more campaign promises. Ask a person why we’re still in Afghanistan and you get a babbled response. We are becoming the evil Imperialist Empire.
