The ConfirmationFiles’ home base is the great state of North Carolina.  Eugenics (the applied science(theoretical) social movement that was aimed at improving population) is an issue that puts a blight on this state.  NC has apologized to the victims that were personally involved in these experiments and Governor Purdue also formed a  “Eugenics Task Force” to address compensation to the approximately 2,000 people who are still alive. Compensation could range from$ 20,000 upwards to  $50,000.

The Brad and Britt Show on WZTK (FM101.1) posed the question, how much should the victims be paid for being involuntarily placed in this program? You would expect people to be more compassionate to the people’s plight. NO! The victims were the ones being maligned. Several callers felt government was right in doing the eugenics experiment.

This is somewhat troubling, generally people who speak in these terms want smaller governance. This is so idiotic that it boggles the mind. Imagine if the government knocked on every third door and performed a procedure on your child. Yeah, would those same people have nothing to say? Others are saying we have too many financial problem, so no payouts. To answer the question of monetary payment, there is no price on one’s life.

We should use how the German’s view life of plants and vegetation. While in Uncle Sam’s service in the mountains of Germany we accidentally ran over a small nursery. How they charged the military was how old the tree would live to; then how productive the tree would be during its duration of life. Let’s just say the owner of the nursery got paid; a lot.  While I know this would be a great debt for the state of North Carolina to pay;  it is necessary on all accounts. I would be as generous to go to at least a million dollars.  We don’t know the counseling these people had to go through after the nightmarish hell they endured.

We are not China so let’s not act as such, we value life and what life brings to the masses. Eugenics is a horrible ill-used science to control the psychologically ill, criminals, and ethnic groups. It probably goes much deeper than that. Let’s not drag our feet on this issue. As my state was involved in crimes against humanity they are at least trying to making amends for the atrocities enforced on the voiceless. That would be the poor, you know the ones without representation and that include all races.
