Libya has been out of the news as of late. Now with the capture of Qaddafi’s two sons and the last stand for control and power, the story is dominating the news sphere once again. The question that needs to be asked is: WHY? Who are the freedom fighters? Is our involvement there truly a humanitarian act; if so where is the information? As I look at movies today the religious tone is even more evident. Think about  The Book of Eli and the latest foray in this genre: Priest. It’s about human control through a power more powerful than man.

Remember when Bush II was in office he commented on making the middle east a “christian nation.” The second part of the equation is the control of energy(oil). With regard to the Middle East – the “most strategically important region of the world,” is Eisenhower’s phrase — the primary concern has been, and remains, its incomparable energy reserves.  Control of these would yield “substantial control of the world,” as observed early on by the influential liberal adviser A.A. Berle.  These concerns are rarely far in the background in affairs concerning this region.  Control these two things and you have total power, absolute power. In regards to the oil, notice  that we’ve had issues with Qaddafi in the past; sure he’s a corrupt dictator. It’s when he wanted to nationalize the oil that he became a problem that had to be eliminated. Information is something that will forever remain secretive within the United States. We will never know some the true intentions of men in control; it’s beyond our pay grade.
