Rick Perry’s debate performance last night is all over the blogsphere today, you know that one minute of silence where he had a brain freeze and forgot what agencies he would abolish when he becomes president. The gaffe is fodder for jokes and even serious consideration, is there something mentally wrong with Governor Perry? Will he take an ax to any government agency he can’t remember the name of.
It pains me but I’m going to have to defend Perry(slightly), being in that spotlight and trying to be natural is just not his thing no matter how they try to force it. Last week found him off the charts funny, loopy and overly chatty at a speech in New Hampshire to last night’s uncomfortable moment where he just didn’t know. He recovered a question or two later but the damage was already done. Mr.”Deer in Headlights” polled at zero percent in an Oakland Univeristy Student Poll later that night down from 6 percent.
Perry hasn’t seen high poll numbers since he entered the race and now he’s having to answer if last night’s will gaffe make him call it quits and from Fox News no less. He says NO but one thing is clear they have a lot of work to do to get Perry up to snuff. Mitt Romney is coming off as the most presidential and that’s what they need if they stand any chance of beating Obama. The time has come to give him the nod.

I missed the debate but I caught snippets of that very embarrassing moment. Shoot. If any of them was going to make it to the end, I was rooting for Perry. At least, when he came onto the scene. I don’t care for Cain or Romney at all. And actually, Cain seems to be leading int he polls as of today. I will be tuning in to tomorrow’s debate, in which the topic will be foreign policy. We’ll see how Cain fairs on that one since he’s admitted to know little in that area. I kinda think he may not score to badly.
