Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on the Senate floor that they have an agreement to reopen the government and lift the debt ceiling.
The Senate is expected to vote on the deal late Wednesday afternoon or early evening, a Democratic leadership aide said. The bill will then go to the House, potentially offering a resolution to the long-running fiscal saga by Wednesday night or early Thursday.
