I’ve always felt we need to be careful what we say. We should guard our mouths. What do I mean by this? When you start one thing it, at times, has a rippling effect. Yes, I’m speaking of Pastor Terry Jones of Florida, the man behind, “Burn a Koran day.”  I could go on and on about why I disagree with his actions and also why I understand them. First, you have to understand he’s a charismatic preacher, he believes in the hellfire brand of ministry. “Hellfires” usually have a deep devotion to doing the right thing. The question I propose, is he doing the right thing? In this instance, I think no. I understand, he’s entitled to burn the Koran but what I don’t understand is why all the fuss about him to deciding to do so. It’s a gosh darn book. The words within the book not the book itself should be written on the heart. Muslim’s get too bent out of shape about this type of thing. Let me add that Muslim’s revere this book. Did you know they wash their face and hands before touching and opening this sacred book ? Even Christians should admire the reverence they have for the Koran.  I hope the Pastor Terry Jones and/or his congregation purchased the books they are going to burn, otherwise they look like a rubes.
Where’s the “Right” on this issue, where are the big three: Beck, Palin, and Newt?  This is a chance for them to do the right thing. Even General Petraeus weighed in on the matter. They (the military)are  trying to win the local townspeople and the pastor’s stunt could hurt what they’re trying to accomplish. Let’s not even talk about the possible backlash against the military.
In Kabul they burned an American flag and a picture of Jones in effigy.  As military trucks rode by local townspeople threw rocks at the convoy. We are all going to have to become more tolerant of our fellow man.
Behind closed doors Christians bash every religion as false, that’s fine, Muslims do the same. All this hate is starting to spill out in a very nasty way that is unnecessary. Muslims have been able to practice here, a truer form of Islam than in their homeland. We need to allow people to be free without violence but with discretion.
