The first I heard of this story was from the NPR program, Tell Me More hosted by Michel Martin. It was quite shocking to hear about the pre-Islamic Afghan tradition that is banned by the Taliban. I felt both shock and horror to know that young boys are taken from their families as young as 8 and up to 15-years-old and placed into this practice.
They (the young boys) are openly courted with lavish gifts to become sex slaves to rich and powerful men.

This is truly disturbing behavior and it is an awakening to the fact that perversion lies everywhere. What is even more disturbing is that somehow the United States is involved.  John Nova Lomax writes about our involvement in a piece entitled: “WikiLeaks: Texas Company Helped Pimp Little Boys to Stoned Afghan Cops.” On the same site is a documentary about the act and how it takes place of the courting of young men. I found it too bothersome to watch. On the surface Islam is dominate within the region but dirty little secrets will arise and WikiLeaks is the group to expose it, well at least the United States’ involvement, albeit minor it’s still disturbing.

What won’t we do when it comes to business (big business)? Would you sell your 12-year-old to be bid upon to be used as a sex slave? WikiLeaks has come under fire as of late but there is merit in exposing corruption. People make wild accusations concerning government but when you have proof, it really makes you wonder about big business and our meddling in every corner of the world.
