Republican Herman Cain officially announced his 2012 presidential bid recently with a rousing speech, “Free at last, free at last he screamed parading around the stage. On the day after he’s elected the next president of the US of A we will be free, again, he said. Free from what? I’m going to make a prediction that we’ll be free of him long before that. The NON-Conformist said it best…Herman Cain, You Can’t Win!
Why is it that black Republicans are always so over the top read: buffons(my word)? It had to be said and I’m saying it. Sure this country voted for Obama but that was the Democratic Party and some independent voters that made that happen. Republicans simply aren’t going to select a black man to be the nominee let alone the president. But that will not stop Cain from believing that “Yes he can”.
I think that Cain is smart if not smarter than most who have declared for the Republican nomination but his blind allegiance to conservative ideas is sometimes disturbing. He can say some of the craziest stuff like planned parenthood should be called planned genocide and Muslims need to stop trying to convert Americans to Islam; all seemingly unprovoked.
Cain, much like a couple other Republicans namely Michael Steele and Allen West, will walk the party line at their own peril. Look at how the Republican National Committee(RNC) treated Steele. He got no credit for their sweeping wins this past November but was instead voted out; tossed aside. Yet a few months later there he was defending Palin on her Sputnik flub. He got her meaning now why didn’t everyone else? He is now an analyst on MSNBC and he does NOT veer off the Republican talking points. For what good? Dude you should have headed for the hills and became an independent the day after you were voted out.
Again the loyalty causes some of the craziest stuff to come out of their mouths. Allen West called Obama a low-level socialist agitator with the third world dictator leanings all because he criticized the Republican budget. Now that is over the top, just say you disagree with the President’s take on the budget and leave it there. As politicians all should respect the office of the president and as such the man currently there.
In the end little will change about Cain, Steele and West because they are conservatives to the core but I know I’m not alone in wishing they just didn’t come off as clowns in the process.
