What we have is a misunderstanding of what something is. I’m speaking about the occupiers of Wall Street and abroad. I waited to comment, I wanted to personally see how things would play out. The first thing I noticed was how the Right came out against the movement. I will be the first to admit, it started with crude implications. Even as my fingers type this, we have heard reports of people doing distasteful things and acting irrationally; that’s fine. Things have to have a beginning before it can have a progression. The Right has spoken out against this movement for fear of not truly understanding it. So they have attacked it from the point of views that discredits its motivation. I’m happy to see multimillionaires on the streets with the protesters, it adds legitimacy to the fight.
The mindset is slowly changing as the occupation continues to garner support. Out of loud clanging, out of chaos there seems to be clarity. I’m not the biggest fan of always marching but if you are protesting a particular company or establishment, that’s fine. The 99ers, as they call themselves, are making huge strides. Our country is in a huge flux but there is a void. That void is the voice of the voiceless. It’s not about the rich per say, it’s about the cheaters, it’s about the one’s who look down on the poor and downtrodden. People are pointing out how some people who have means can break rules and not be held accountable. The people are pointing out the unfair practices that led to the housing bubble and the true decline of so-called capitalism. When greed goes unchecked capitalism runs amok in the face of the people.
As the movement continues to gain focus and media coverage, they need to articulate their grievances for the world to hear so the next time the media won’t confuse their cause with utter chaos. I don’t think the protesters are arguing, for example, the success of a Steve Jobs, they will point out he earned it. They are arguing the practices of a few. The few by their actions affected a large segment of people. It is startling that 1 percent owns 95 percent of the nation’s wealth. It’s time we have clarity, it’s time we have people point fingers unafraid. Our country is changing, whether that change is for the better, only time will tell.
The time is now for America to stand and ask the tough questions again. In President Obama’s campaign he spoke of things like government transparency. He needs to reach down and really mean it the second go around. People voted you in and they can vote you out. Even the flip- flopper Mitt Romney has in a way embraced the movement. Let me add that the Wall Street barons are only one part of the problem; it’s time to march on the doors of Congress as well. Look at the success of the Tea Party; they targeted their own and made them accountable to them. 99ers you need to do the same. You have entered the first phase of the revolution, you changed your mind.
The NON-Conformist
From my long experience in dealing with governments in more than a dozen of them I assure you that if you slash more than half of government officials or the so-called public dis-service and throw them to the streets you will definitely get better, effective and efficient administrations.
I am sure they are the source of corruption and corporate greed support. I have never seen in my long life any government department or an office functioning properly.
They are excesses, idles, and the antithesis of innovation, ethics and productivity.
People must have regular and uninterrupted access to monitor what are going on in any government office, low or high, including the judiciary, the police, the security, and the military.
When you deal personally with a successful private business you feel your power as a valued customer even if it was unethical business. But when I personally deal with any government office I feel their arrogance and wickedness; I wish I could spit on their faces.
The public service anywhere in the world is ten times it’s optimal size, and they are very good in employing the failures and the dishonest for life.
To Occupy Wall Street and bring social, political, and economic justice people must axe useless officials first.
