Republicans just can’t seem to get on the moral train that they keep screaming for everyone else to jump on. They are against abortion, taxes, illegals, gays, liberals and just about anyone or anything that you can think of yet they end up in more peccadilloes. Forget about Monica Lewinsky and then President Clinton office sexcapades; no children were birthed and no divorces resulted. That is not the case with former gubernatorial candidate, Bill Johnson of Alabama. While working as an earthquake recovery manager in Churchchrist, New Zealand he became a sperm donor to at least six women three of which are now pregnant. No problem right, men donate sperm all the time. There is just one little problem, Johnson is married and his family(specifically his wife back here in the states) was not aware of his latest donation. I say latest because he’d ALREADY donated sperm to a woman in New Zealand back in June(without his wife’s knowledge) but with counseling they worked through it and he promised to let it go.

He obviously didn’t and his excuse for the betrayal is that his wife couldn’t have kids because of health problems that resulted in her having a hysterectomy. Johnson knew this before they married and said her three kids from a previous marriage were enough for him. Obviously not.

When approached last week by the New Zealand Herald Newspaper he said, “I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world. When I married her I knew we couldn’t have any more children. She had a hysterectomy 10 years ago,” he said. “There is nothing my wife would want to give me more in the world than a child of my own.”

What happened to morals and more importantly to loyalty? Is this the live and uncut version of Spike Lee’s movie, She Hate Me?

The irony in all of this is that when he ran for office in Alabama he ran as a conservative against gay marriage but his sperm (unbeknownst to him)actually went to some lesbian couples. Moreover he violated the sperm-donor rule’s limit of four families by donating to six women. He wants to be a part of their lives as much as he’s allowed and he’s providing financial assistance to two of the women. It’s like he’s not even married and just another in a long line of Republicans who excuse their behavior based on their inflated egos.
