I’m starting a petition NOW to bring Alan Colmes back to the Sean Hannity Show, if Colmes will have him. I bet you had forgotten that Alan used to be a part of Hannity’s nightly screeds which have gotten worse since President Obama took office. To be clear Sean Hannity HATES President Obama and I think Colmes could help him chill out a bit. Just turn over to his show any night on Fox News and there could have been a train wreck right around the corner and he will be bashing Obama about something that happened months ago. A few weeks ago he announced breathlessly that he had something that would blow our minds about Obama’s college days aka The Brietbart Expose. I was disappointed when that it wasn’t the President smoking a doobie and holding a beer but Ms. Thang(because he whines like a girl) was just outraged as he always is about anything that the President has done. The video turned out to be NOTHING other than Obama hugging his one-time professor at Harvard after speaking about the need for more diversity at the university.

The latest dead horse he is beating is that Obama should give back Bill Maher’s Super PAC donation of a million dollars even though by law Obama can’t have ANY contact with the PAC but Hannity acts as if he can call them up demand they put a check in the mail to Maher. Another dead horse was Solyandra’s failure scandal but I don’t remember him being so outraged with Halliburton’s abuse of  our tax dollars as they contracted with the military to provide services during the Iraq war, a no -bid contract I might add. He’s always wanting Obama to disavow someone he knows such as Bill Ayers or Jeremiah Wright (which Obama has done) but Hannity refuses to do the same. He was outraged at rapper Common appearing at a White House poetry event and objected to a line in one of his poems that said, “Burn a bush for peace,” which surely meant Common was going to go out and set President Bush on fire. It was a metaphor you dummy. No such outrage though toward rocker and frequent show guest Ted Nugent who at 2007 concert called then candidate Obama a piece of sh*t who could suck on his machine gun. When asked to denounce it by a guest on his show he said,“No, I like Ted Nugent. He’s a friend of mine.”

This is what is so maddening about him, he can know something is a lie but he’ll say it enough that if you’re not informed, you’ll think it’s the truth. He can feign outrage at something benign and turn a myopic eye to something that is clearly outrageous. Both he and Fox News depend on the ignorance of their audience to gobble it all up. A couple of weeks ago he wondered to his great american panel why the President would decline an interview to talk with him. After all he respects the office and President;  no you don’t Sean. Obama is not big on the press as most presidents aren’t and after sitting down with Bill O’Reilly and barely being allowed to finish a sentence he’s not stupid enough to do it again on Fox News.

I think it’s fair to question elected officials including the President but what Sean does on a nightly basis is a poor excuse for journalism even if his show is more opinion based than anything. He could benefit by throwing just a bit of criticism at conservatives.
