In a 46-second video posted on YouTube Friday afternoon, Paula Deen offered up an apology for using “inappropriate, hurtful language.” This comes after she failed to show up for a scheduled interview on TODAY to discuss her admission that she’s used racial slurs in the past.
“I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done, and I want to learn and grow from this,” Deen says in the heavily edited video. “Inappropriate, hurtful language is totally, totally unacceptable. I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I’ve made.”
