Marijuana firms snuff ties with ‘Permit Patty’ company after she threatened to call cops on girl selling water

They are taking the high road.

At least six businesses are cutting ties with the marijuana company owned by Alison (Permit Patty) Ettel, who was caught on video threatening to call cops on an 8-year-old girl selling water.

Magnolia, a cannabis store in Oakland which has been dispensing marijuana since 2009, said in a statement that it will no longer carry Treatwell Tinctures.

“After seeing this video of their CEO, calling the police on an 8-year-old entrepreneur selling water on a hot day, we decided without hesitation that we could no longer patronize her company,” the statement read.

The company added that while Treatwell was one of their best-selling products, “integrity is always before profits.”

The Apothecarium, the Bloom Room and Green Trees Wellness, all marijuana dispensaries in California, voiced displeasure with Ettel and distanced themselves from her company. The cannabis delivery service Herb and reviews website Ganjly also took issue with the video.

White Man Arrested In Deaths Of Two Black Men, Firing On Family In Louisiana

A 23-year-old white man was arrested Tuesday and accused of cold-bloodedly killing two black men and shooting up a black family’s home in a string of attacks last week that police say may have been racially motivated.

A law enforcement official said authorities found a handwritten copy of an Adolf Hitler speech at Kenneth James Gleason’s home, and investigators said surveillance footage and DNA on a shell casing link him to the crimes.

Authorities said he would be charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of a homeless man and a dishwasher who was walking to work. In each case, the killer opened fire from his car, then walked up to the victim as he lay on the ground and fired again repeatedly, police said.

“I feel confident that this killer would have killed again,” interim Police Chief Jonny Dunnam said.

Gleason’s attorney, J. Christopher Alexander, said his client “vehemently denies guilt, and we look forward to complete vindication.”

Authorities found the Hitler speech during a search over the weekend, according to the law enforcement official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still going on.

Asked whether police suspect the shootings were motivated by race, Sgt. L’Jean McKneely said: “We’re not completely closed off to that. We’re looking at all possibilities at this time, so we’re not going to just pinpoint that.”

District Attorney Hillar Moore said he may seek the death penalty.

“It appears to be cold, calculated, planned (against) people who were unarmed and defenseless,” he said.

Authorities also said that just after midnight on Sept. 10, Gleason fired into the home of a black family who lived three houses down from Gleason and his parents.

A petition calling for the arrest of former President Bill Clinton for alleged election law violations has gained over 100,000 signatures. He made appearances at three polling precincts in Massachusetts on Super Tuesday. State officials said he acted legally.

“This is a call for the immediate arrest of President Bill Clinton for clear, knowing and egregious violation of the campaign laws to swing an election in a significant way,” said the petition to Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey.

“It could not be any clearer in the Massachusetts General Laws…[prohibiting] campaigning within 150 feet of a polling station…Clinton was not only electioneering within the boundary…photos and video show him greeting and talking up election workers inside,” added the petition.

Sheriff to Oregon protest holdouts: ‘There doesn’t have to be bloodshed’

Federal and state authorities said Wednesday the shooting death of one protester and arrest of 8 others who had occupied a federal wildlife refuge came after futile efforts to end the standoff peacefully for 25 days.

“Instead, they have chosen to threaten and intimidate the America they profess to love and through their criminal actions bring these consequences upon themselves,” said Greg Bretzing, FBI special agent in charge.

In a particularly emotional statement before reporters, Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward spoke directly to the remaining half-dozen holdouts at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Ore., which has been occupied since Jan. 2.

Why Bill Cosby’s Criminal Case May Now Be Dismissed

If former Pennsylvania District Attorney Bruce Castor made a promise not to prosecute Bill Cosby in 2005, this could doom prosecutors in the sexual assault case filed against him in December.

Here’s why.

Cosby’s attorneys say he ONLY agreed to testify in a sexual assault civil case based on this prosecutorial promise. You would expect, at the time, if Cosby’s attorneys thought he might be charged criminally in connection with that case, that they would have advised their client to invoke his right not to incriminate himself. They would have been crazy not to do so.

Instead, Cosby testified – describing in detail his various sexual encounters with young women and use of drugs – which he claimed were (basically) consensual. And now, those very admissions by Cosby, are the heart of the criminal case brought by Kevin Steele, the newly elected Montgomery County district attorney. (Side note: Steele was elected based on a campaign promise to prosecute Cosby)

GOP presidential hopeful Scott Walker can’t wait to start arresting doctors for performing abortions

Image: Raw Story

Wisconsin GOP lawmakers are hell bent for leather to make sure that women are unable to get a perfectly legal abortion after 20 weeks — no matter if they have been raped or are a victim of incest — and Gov. Scott Walker is standing by and more than willing to help handcuff the doctors and have them hauled away.

A bill before the Wisconsin legislature would make it illegal for anyone who performs or attempts to perform an abortion after 20 weeks subject to three and a half years in prison, in addition to a $10,000 fine.

Anti-choice Republicans are pushing the bill through — assigning it more importance than working on the budget — and, according to Rep. Jesse Kremer (R), Gov. Walker is fired up to sign it. As for instances of rape and incest: too bad, victims. Jesse Kremer and Scott Walker are only looking out for your best interests.

Kremer used what could be charitably called an “unfortunate” term, when talking about allowing an exception.

“As a husband, father and EMT, I feel absolutely terrible for a woman who’s involved in one of those heinous crimes,” Kremer said. “However, that does not mean we should put carve-outs in this bill that would essentially double down on that awful situation and selectively decide which children should and should not be inhumanely tortured to death by tearing them apart, limb from limb.”
