Jeff Sessions Sets Back the Clock

Pay no attention to what the media says about how undermined Jeff Sessions is. POTUS may bait him publicly via tweet, but in private, at the DOJ, Sessions is a man on a mission to roll back civil rights, and that’s just what he’s doing.

Take what he did this July 3, quietly rescinding two dozen documents intended to make American institutions less racist.

The guidelines the AG scrapped included Obama-era guides on affirmative action that urged colleges to promote diversity for the benefit of the campus and the public good. Others reminded employers that asylum seekers have every right to work, and still others sought to head off another mortgage meltdown by warning brokers not to give predatory home loans to people without going through the fine print.

And Obama-era guidelines weren’t the only ones Sessions withdrew. He also rescinded George W. Bush-era documents that reminded all Americans after 9-11 that discrimination on the basis of national origin is wrong.

The AG reached even further and nixed a Gerald Ford-era guide intended to keep kids out of adult prisons—and out of prison entirely for age-related offenses like truancy and drinking.

Rescinding these documents didn’t make any new laws or repeal any old ones; the guides just sought to make existing law better understood. However, earlier this summer, the AG didwade into the law itself when he raised the bar for asylum seekers—mostly women—and took immigration decisions into his own hands and out of the courts.

In early June, Sessions ruled that domestic violence was, like gang crime, a “private crime,” meaning its survivors are not considered members of any particular, at-risk social group. In an already decided case, he called on asylum seeker Aminta Cifuentes to prove that the Guatemalan government actively condoned what he called “private violence” when state police and law enforcement refused to intervene, even after her rapist husband doused her in turpentine and tried to set her alight.

In so-doing Sessions reversed a prior ruling on her case by an immigration appeal board.

On July 3, Sessions called the guidelines he rescinded outdated. So what date does he think this is? The eve of a pro-white, pro-male, anti-immigrant, anti-democratic, slave-owning nation? Just how far does AG Sessions want to set back the clock?

Rep. Pete King: Obama To Blame For Making Eric Garner Case About Race

The man who killed the two officers on Saturday as that sat in their patrol car in Brooklyn reportedly posted messages on social media before the killings indicating he was angry about the case of Eric Garner.

Garner was an unarmed black Staten Island man who died in July after a white police officer placed him in a chokehold.

Appearing Monday on Fox News, King criticized statements Obama and de Blasio made about the Garner case before Saturday’s killings.

“Whatever was right or wrong about Staten Island, it was wrong for the mayor and the President to imply that somehow this involved race, that this was part of some endemic racism in the police department and society,” King said.

He also said it was time for Obama and de Blasio to begin praising police.

“It’s important for the President and the mayor, if they are serious about healing what they believe is this rift — or this feud, if you will, this chasm — in race relations, for them to come out and start giving praise to the police” the congressman said on Fox News.

“Say that the police have done more to save minority lives than anyone in this country,” he added.

Minutes after NBC News had projected President Obama to win re-election, he celebrated late Tuesday by sending out a photo with the first lady titled simply, “Four more years.” According to Twitter Government, this was the president’s most re-tweeted missive ever (as of now, more than 600,000 and counting).

This is a Disclaimer: A message left on a KFNX-AM voice mail said that Barbara Espinosa has not worked at the station “in a month.” Many people had called the station at the urging of Sirius XM Satellite Radio talk show host Joe Madison. The station issued this statement:

“KFNX received your comment through a voicemail or email. Barbara Espinosa does not host a show anymore on KFNX 1100, so the information is dated. She has not aired a show at KFNX for nearly a month. She currently hosts an internet show on Blogtalk Radio to the best of our knowledge.

This doesn’t change the fact that the comments were made. This week the idiot award goes to Barbara Espinosa(pictured below). On her now defunct show she tried to be controversial by calling  the President of the United States(POTUS) a monkey. She says she stands behind her comment.  Well, not completely, she had it scratched from her Facebook Page. She then hid behind the moniker of,  “I can’t be a racist, look at my last name.” This has the makings of Marco Rubio all over it. He was supposed to pen the newer version of the Dream Act. He’s suppose to represent the Hispanic vote, but is he really Hispanic?  No, he’s of Cuban descent. Who seems to identify more with the other? Barbara Espinosa seems to follow suit. Who are you standing with by calling the POTUS a monkey, you hurt your brand in a bad way. I’m sure Rush would love to call him that but cares about his brand too much; in other words, ‘dem dollars. She’s in a long list of wanna be shock talkers who are neither shocking or relevant. Why isn’t she out there repping her ethnicity, fighting for them. This idiot will be fired within the week and will fall further in the nether region of the unknown. In light of the news, I was correct on the unknown part.

I came across a new book that made me laugh and want to puke at the same time. I didn’t know that was possible. The book is entitled: The Teavangelicals: The Inside Story of how the Evangelicals and the Tea Party are Taking Back America by David Brody. More

The POTUS and the SOTU 2011

Tomorrow will be President Obama’s second State of the Union Address and there is a lot of buzz as to what his buzzword(s) will be. What word(s) will he say repeatedly throughout his speech?  Will he talk about jobs? With an unemployment rate stuck at 9 percent job creation is sure to be a main talking point.  I’m also hearing outreach as in the use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter to hold a series of live online events to answer questions from the general public in the hours and days following the address. Of course compromise is sure to come up now that Democrats no longer have control of the House of Representatives and in the wake of the Tucson shootings. In his weekly Saturday Radio Address the President spoke of America competing with other countries such as China and India. He said frankly: “We can out-compete any other nation.” Remember the President recently made a visit to India and China’s President Hu Jintao visited here last week. Both visits resulted in billions in trade deals that will create American jobs especially in the hard-hit manufacturing sector. The SOTU is sure to be interesting including the new seating arrangement with Democratic and Republican members of Congress sitting next to each other in a staged show of unity. We here at TheConfirmationFiles will be tuned in to every second but can’t help but lament that Countdown with Keith Olbermann will not be providing a post-analysis of the speech.  But there is the State of the Union Drinking Game to cheer us up.

Here are a few things that you might like to *drink to:

Drink if POTUS mentions Main Street and Wall Street in the same sentence
x2 if it is with negative connotations

Drink if you catch John Boehner wiping his eyes(Lord help us all!)

Drink when POTUS says anything that sounds like boner
x2 if it works as a double entendre

Drink if POTUS defends the Health Care Reform Bill

Drink if POTUS states there will be plenty of time for campaigning in 2012
x2 if the camera pans to Mitch McConnell
x3 if the camera pans to someone that will likely be running against him in 2012
