The Donald is a piece of work…literally and figuratively. I am tempted to talk about his hair but instead I want to focus on his mouth; namely the things that come out of it.  Trump being Trump says whatever is on his mind.  At this year’s CPAC he called out Ron Paul saying, “By the way Ron Paul can’t get elected,” adding that he liked him but he had zero chance of winning. Some in the crowd booed while other cheered. The Donald smirked! He called Mitt Romney a little business man telling  CNN’s “State of the Union” that he has a “much, much bigger net worth. I mean my net worth is many, many, many times Mitt Romney,” Trump said. This may be true but Romney is no slouch either, he spent $42.3 million of his own money during his 2008 presidential run.

Lately Trump’s dived head first into the “birther” pool; that is Obama doesn’t have a birth certificate but rather a  certificate of live birth and he was really born in Kenya and his grandparents said he was born here so he could get welfare and on and on.  The certificate of live birth is what a  birth certificate is called in most states. According to Wikipedia, The U.S. National Center for Health Statistics creates standard forms that are recommended for use by the individual states to document births. However, states are free to create their own forms. As a result, neither the appearance nor the information content of birth certificate forms is uniform across states.

He sounds ridiculous going on and on about something that has been disputed many times over, the certificate of live birth meets the state department standards for any one citizen. But take a look at Trump’s poll numbers and you’ll know many in America believe the President was born in Kenya. I love it when he says that he really doesn’t want to talk about the birth certificate issue but wants to talk about China. I challenge the media to NOT ask him about it at all and see if he falls into talking about it. I bet he will because most of what he says is for shock value like what he says about policy both U.S. and foreign.

He is living in” la la” land because you can’t just do whatever you want without their being consequences. Sick of gas prices well just tell the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that you want lower prices says Trump. CNN’s Candy Crowley told him that OPEC doesn’t necessarily do what the U.S. wants and Trump said you just have to say it the right way.  If you’re upset about the four wars we are in now, Trump would have us fighting wars in every corner of the world. He would take a club to China with a 25%  tariff on Chinese goods. It sounds good but experts say that  it would create a trade war and higher prices. A recent Public Policy Poll has him leading the Republican field by nine points but if he seriously runs his liberal leanings will be revealed. The conservative Club for Growth called him a “tax-hiking liberal” for embracing single-payer health care and cited excerpts from his book The America We Deserve in their recent press release on him saying that Donald Trump favors a massive tax hike on Americans that would kill jobs and investment among other statements. Conservatives will rip him to shreds for being pro-choice in 1999 but now suddenly he is pro-life. He is a showman, bottom line, and it’s unlikely his flavor for a presidential run will last.
