Here are some of the headlines that major newspapers posted the day after Osama bin Laden was killed:
The News & Observer-Bin Laden Killed in Fire Fight
The Miami Herald-He’s Dead
St. Petersburg Times-DEAD
The New York Post-GOT HIM
The Daily Advertiser-JUSTICE
Philadelphia Daily News-WE GOT THE BASTARD!
Think back, do you remember where you were on that day? It is burned into our collective conscious forever. Truth be told, I remember it being the most beautiful of September mornings. I can clearly remember driving home thinking aloud how pretty it was. Before I wax poetic, I believe most of us can remember that day of September 11.
Let’s change the narrative. Do you remember where you were when Osama bin Laden was shot and killed? I ask this question for a reason. Doesn’t it seem too far removed? Almost 11 years! Hell Bush said it really didn’t matter anymore during his reign of terror about the capture of Osama bin Laden. Only the second day after the event some were throwing out Bush’s name for his major role in the fight on terror. Sorry boys, it doesn’t matter. Whoever watch it happen on gets the booty. To further my earlier point. I didn’t really care like a lot of Americans about the capture and killing of Bin Laden. Is this going to stop terror? NO!
What about the nine lives of Osama? He supposedly has been killed that many times. Fox News led with a story about his death in 2001, the NY Times in 2002. Here lies the conspiracy of many more to come. Before I continue, allow me to put out this disclaimer. We will probably never know the truth; we’re still trying to figure out JFK’s murder as well as our true involvement in Vietnam. We understand our government has been corrupt for some time. Look at the Tuskegee Experiment as well as the Guatemalan Experiments. Both groups were infected with Sexually Transmitted Diseases(STDs). Why? To test a treatment! That’s not a conspiracy but a fact.
First-we know we have an ailing economy. It was time for a win for the home team. So what happens? First the long- form birth certificate. Now the killing of America’s #1 created and most feared terrorist.
Second-people wanted some type of closure. They wanted to see pictures. What do you know, we get fakes. Ok fine, what about a body. Well they gave him a burial at sea according to Islamic burial rites. We know that was false according to Islamic law, let’s not even mention the shrine.
We have to continue on as a country. Both sides of the isle have to work for the people. That’s supposedly what government is for,” for the people by the people”. I think that it is forgotten; America can chew gum and walk at the same time.
Many blacks have felt a certain absolve for OBL. We see one side of the story. Questions arise in the minds of thinking people: black and white. Why is this guy so angry? We must understand what terrorism truly is. It’s a poor man’s war. These aren’t 100,000 thousand trained soldiers with extensive training with the latest technology backing them. You have a small group whose leader probably has or had ties with the CIA. This leader has a certain goal; that is to spread fear. They can’t take over a small nation as a well-trained military can. The last I remember who did it was Castro’s overthrowing the puppet for America, the Batista Regime. America needs to stop waging wars against other countries; toppling governments. We are hated or disliked because of our furtherance of involvements. Our foreign policy is another issue e.g., our indoctrination of the Monroe Doctrine, “the United States considers its own interests”. We were once considered an isolationist country. As many speak of getting back to the Constitution, let’s get back to our isolationist roots. It’s important we stay out of foreign entanglements. It keeps everyone safe.
After WWII America was great, we owned 50 percent of the world’s wealth as well as controlling both sides of the ocean. We emerged as the first global power in history. The planners were drawing a blue print for our future.
In the end the capture of Bin Laden doesn’t change anything for me. My life continues. My daughter is still going to college and I will have to pay; my life continues. In spite of what we believe about Bin Laden; whatever conspiracy we hold to about his death nothing is going to be proven. So let’s live.
