Today we celebrate 235 years of independence. Who would I like to thank? I’ll give the Founding Fathers some love but not too much. We all know the history of our storied past. It’s quite brilliant when you look at it. We have so many mouth pieces today though that people don’t know our history. They add so many twist and turns that it appears to be white-washed; especially when you look at it today. Herman(the Vermin)Cain recently quoted the Constitution but he really meant the Declaration of Independence. It, the Preamble, Constitution and Bill of Rights all differ, of course he didn’t know that, that’s why he misquoted it.

I would also on this day like to thank the slaves who revolted.  Not the submissive type of Michele Bachmann slaves who she thought wanted to come over here for freedom or more freedom. What an idiot to make such an idiotic statement! I would also like to thank Nat Turner as well as John Brown and Frederick Douglass. These folk were the precursors to our freedoms we have and love today. Allow me to add the beautiful ones whom practiced peaceful civil disobedience during the turbulent, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, I’ll even show love to the one’s who raised a fist, it all goes hand in hand.

What did Lincoln say “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves,”wow what a nice quote from the MAN WHO PURCHASED LIBERIA ON WHICH TO PUT THE SLAVES . I’m not here to disparage his name. I’m tired of all the posturing to hold these men to different standards. The founding fathers owned slaves, they slept with slaves (rape), they were Deists and atheists.

We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Notice the language or lack thereof, certain unalienable rights. They discounted blacks as 3/5th of a man. Women were considered to be less, Indians were not even mentioned. Lest we forget these men were elitists as well bourgeoisie.

I love when people drape themselves in the flag and misquote the Constitution. I’m also tired of politicians equating God and so on with politics. The problem we have today is two-fold. One, we are trying to allow the Bible to make policy. Secondly, we have a faux two-party system. One that lies about everything it does. We have to start being honest, Repubs aren’t going to ride on a white horse and save the country. We are still going through growing pains based on horrible policies from Raygun, both Bushes and even Clinton. Our country is a corporatist whore. Lobbyists and big business runs this country if we don’t get that fact we will continue to go down into the dumps. Have a happy Independence Day.
