Presidential non-hopeful Ron Paul came out blasting the President for the recent killing of American born Anwar al-Awlaki. First, let’s take a look at Anwar’s record.
- 9/11 /2001-Some of the bombers sought his spiritual counsel
- 2009-Fort Hood, TX -E-mailed at length with Major Nidal Malik Hasan, killer of 13 soldiers
- 2009 -Trained X-mas underwear bomber how to detonate bomb
- 2010-Times Square-Failed car bomb attempt
- 2010- Failed attempt to ship bombs to U.S. using cargo planes
With that said, why was Ron Paul so upset? The killing of an American citizen is an impeachable offense akin to assassination. I however understand rights but was Anwar claiming to be an American citizen? Was he hiding behind his citizenship? Did he disavow his citizenship by plotting attacks on American soil? Was he killed because he knew too much and to capture him would have been bad? Maybe he did know too much, he was a guest from time to time at the Pentagon. Maybe his death was expedient for political purposes. Maybe Ron Paul has a point, but why weren’t these atrocities pointed out more readily during the Bush II administration, which was walking all over the Constitution.
The NON-Conformist
No one had the balls to stand up to Bush. If anyone did, they were automatically labeled un-American, Socialist, and/or whatever else they could think of.
Good point. When Ron Paul has to teach class during the debate on foreign policy, they snicker and call him a loon. America is a imperialist country with sordid history. Remember terrorism is a poor mans war.
