By now you’ve heard about Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was shot to death by a self-appointed community watchman named George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida. First, how did this happen in this day and age, not the shooting but that the shooter was seemingly given a pat on the back, his gun returned to him and sent on his merry way with a smile. What the Hell! Even trained officers of the law who shoot with reason are often put on desk duty until an investigation can be conducted. Again…what the hell, you just let this guy go because he cited some crazy ass Florida self-defense law. At best he should have been brought in for questioning, at worst kept overnight just because it didn’t all add up.

As more details come out about the case I’m disturbed by the 911 tapes and that this poor child was left for three days at the medical examiner’s office. Did they not even think to go through his cell phone and try to contact family members who were frantic. Oh wait it was just some thug black kid wearing a hoodie, who gives a darn. Since when did hoodies become evil, what’s next sweatshirts and where is his cellphone? As pictures of Trayvon show up all over the internet and on television, the sense of a life taken stupidly and senselessly makes my head spin. How could this happen and why hasn’t that loser/stalker Zimmerman been arrested? He’s a LOSER because he shot an innocent and unarmed child and who rides around patrolling their neighborhood with a gun, who does that? That’s the so-called job of the police.

Yesterday a neighbor came to Zimmerman’s defense saying he was no Rambo and boo hoo hoo there had been a bunch of robberies by black males over the last year and he(Zimmerman) was just freaking fed up. I am in no way defending males of any race of committing robbery but you just CANNOT go out killing folks who may look suspicious. Excuses, excuses.

Zimmerman whose ethnicity is Hispanic and white family says he’s can’t be a racist because he grew up in a multicultural setting but I take exception to that because his skin and hair is such that he can NOT be identified by the color of his skin, in other words he looks white enough, albeit barely. In his dark heart he was racist though, chasing down some kid for no reason other than walking while black. It’s shameful and I hope the now opened investigations result in his arrest.

Last but not least, I’m glad that people pushed back on this murder and took to alternative methods(social media) to get the word out. Also black media deserves credit for first covering the story. The dam of all the ugliness that surrounds Trayvon’s killing has been opened and I hope it overflows until justice is done.
