Fox News mogul Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post published last week what some are calling the most profoundly disrespectful and racist cartoon ever about President Obama. The cartoon depicts an angry white man on horseback (Mitt Romney) chasing down a terrified skinny black man fleeing on foot (President Obama) – and the Romney figure is aiming an assault rifle and attached bayonet at the Obama figure’s backside.

When I saw the cartoon, I drew a completely different conclusion. I thought it indicated Romney had Obama on the run in all the polls. It also highlighted Obama’s childish snark during the last debate regarding horses and bayonets, of which bayonets are still used by present day marines and we used horse soldiers from our special forces recently in Afghanistan.
Then, when you put those recent facts in conjunction with the historical facts that the Democratic Party was the party of slavery and the party of the KKK, while the Republican Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln and the party of freeing the slaves, you’re allegations fall flat.
You don’t know your history Abe Lincoln only freed the slaves because people like mitt r. and g. bush were scared to fight and do what is right know your history before you say something
Abe wanted to save the Union at all costs and he famously wrote,” If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that.”
It’s apparent that you are stuck in a time lock along w/the flip flopping horse riding bigget depicted in the cartoon with those idiotic comparisons. The long ago party affiliations has nothing to do w/current day events, both parties own slaves back then, NOW WHAT???? You would think that way, small minds think alike. Mitt made a boneheaded statement that one surely wouldn’t make unless you are out of touch with reality or have childest thoughts. You say the cartoon highlights President “Obama’s childish snark during the last debate regarding horses and bayonets”; seems to me the POTUS only retorted with a comment that a child (Mitt) would understand, although he never got it. If Mitt was depicted with his hood & robe you would have your spin for it. STOP SPREADING HATE!!!!
Oh by the way, we know that Army units along w/Marines are also issued bayonets as part of their Soldiers’ Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment, or OCIE, but I haven’t heard of any used in the current day efforts of “hand to bayonet” fighting. Yes, horses were used by Special Ops Forces (SOF) in the outset of the war in AFGHAN but ceased after a short period. However, it was apparent that Mitt was not aware of it. GSWASYAD (Go Somewhere And Sit Your Ass Down).
I assume you meant “bigot”. So… bigot? Did you see Mitt supporting Mia Love today?
Republicans owned slaves? Hmmm… doubtful. The party was founded in 1856 with their primary platforms to abolish and prohibit slavery? If any Republican did own slaves, would it count any more than the blacks who owned slaves in America? Don’t believe me? Go look at the 1860 US Census. Over 3,000 blacks in New Orleans alone owned slaves.
Did you realize that Obama’s snark about bayonets and horses was in response to Mitt’s discussion about the Navy. Mitt didn’t bring up bayonets or horses. Are you paying attention?
They are not MY allegations, I’m simply sharing information… note the ? mark at the end of the headline…
You’re correct. Not your allegation. You were asking. I would say, no, that is not what the cartoon was portraying.
Black Owned Slaves because they worked and bought the family out of slavery. It’s just history please read and study US History. This is taught in about the sixth grade
David, that was my point. Although I’m sure there was a small percentage of American blacks who owned slaves as a form of wealth, I would guess the majority did so as a loophole to free them. I would make the same assumptions for any Republicans who owned slaves.
I’m grateful that America was finally able to end slavery. It shouldn’t have taken as long as it did considering in 1860 that less than 3% of the free population owned slaves in the US (Less than 6% in the South alone). It is sad that Africans continued to own other Africans as slaves well into the 1900s.
This is crazy as HELL!!!
Is America that fearful of their elected president that they would take this country back 50 years.
