Friday was a holiday and the kickoff of the final stretch of campaigning before actual presidential primary voting begins. Suffice it to say that Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina did not kick things off in style. Well, not a good style. They certainly both got noticed.

Stanford alum Fiorina kicked off the new year with a tweet that may well appear on worst-of lists at the end of the year:

Love my alma mater, but rooting for a Hawkeyes win today. #RoseBowl

As for Carson, after his campaign manager and communications director resigned Thursday, they were quickly followed by his deputy campaign manager and at least two lower-level staffers. Some reports, though, put the number much higher—up to 20 total. And Barry Bennett, Carson’s former campaign manager, isn’t keeping his mouth shut:
Things had “boiled over” with Williams, Bennett told Reuters. “For the past seven weeks, I’ve been doing nothing but putting out Armstrong Williams-started fires,” Bennett said.
