Last comment on the Treyvon Martin case before it’s actually tried in the courts. Before it is tried in the courts, it has to play out in the streets, media and so forth. George Zimmerman’s name has been driven through the mud, as it should be. Now Treyvon’s name and background are being questioned. The only thing I have to say to the Martin family is to stay strong and wade the storm. Remember Zimmerman has lawyers working for him as well, and in the end, it’s about winning. Also Zimmerman comes from a rich family. Once the dust settles I believe justice will prevail on Treyvon’s side. What bothers me most is how people act as if a confrontation didn’t occur. As I’ve told Liberal Girl from day one, Zimmerman got his ass whooped by this kid who also stood at about 6’3; probably a little intimidating at first. If it’s true that a second shot was fired, that’s murder. Another issue that irks me are the black callers on conservative radio. Stop trying to appease the white host. Stop with all the, “I’m more worried about child being killed by someone of the same color,” it’s a bit unsettling. Try walking through a very affluent white neighborhood passing out church fliers and see how welcomed you are. This case is very polarizing at best. And please stop with all the Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson hate. Jesse did something a president couldn’t do; remember the freed hostages, I’m pretty sure they’re grateful. While I’m not the biggest fans of both, Al has come up to a respectable level, he was suspect at first.
It does take a lot courage to take stands in the public eye and suffer for it. Al has a radio program and a show on MSNBC(Politics Nation). He’s able to have a larger platform as well as more influence. Zimmerman’s side is doing what it can to discredit Treyvon’s case. While I do like the solidarity around this case, why can’t we come out like this for education or in matters that mean more for a community instead of a TV show getting cancelled. It’s going to be an ordeal for the Martins, they are going to see the ugly side of justice, first hand.

The issue of health care is all the rage. I saw marchers in D.C., I was a bit puzzled; do people really know everything in the bill? Sure it’s a large piece of sweeping legislation; two thousand plus pages. My belief is people are upset by the word mandate, as it’s some intrusive word to make you do something. Haven’t governments always made you do something against your will that you didn’t like? All you have to do is look at history. I’m pretty sure people would find more about the bill that they like than dislike. The Obama people should ask Massachusetts how they feel about healthcare? The slogan should read: Obamacare, because Obama cares.

I’m tired of watching conservatives arguing about health care reform when they did nothing to improve it. Single payer makes sense. Remember their rallying cry “repeal and replace, replace with what though? Try going to the emergency room, sure they accept you with no problem but they test you for everything; then you receive a very large bill. Remember when Bush II said, “America has health care, it’s called the emergency room.”  This is going to be an uphill battle, oh and it’s also political season. Why are citizens arguing the side of health insurance companies, since when did they care about you.

Bush II passed something no one talks about; the prescription drug bill where drug companies can charge us whatever they want and they do. Right now the cost goes back to us who pays for this rip-off system. Premiums are constantly going up, we can’t argue, we have to pay. Insurance companies are a two-faced monsters taking advantage of the citizen and laughing all the way to the bank. Something needs to be done. Nixon tried, Clinton tried, now Obama did, now everyone wants to piggy back the 10th amendment to argue against it. If you are leaders, get in front and lead. Stop allowing others to move first then come and save the day.

Palin commented on Santorum’s outburst. I can see this, I know she’s using herself as a reference. The difference between the two are, she was ignorant of the facts and he’s simply nutty but knowledgeable of the facts; there’s a discernible difference. Doesn’t it suck to have so much fanfare and money and celebrity and the general populace still thinks you’re DUMB, good on ya!
